Ways To Pay Your Tax

Reminder: The way you pay tax is changing

The Inland Revenue Department (IRD) has changed the way that you pay tax. This particularly affects those that usually pay their tax via cheque. If this was you, your new options are:

By cash or EFTPOS at Westpac
You'll need to have a barcode to ensure that your payment goes to the right place.
Barcodes are usually printed on returns, statements or letters from the IRD. You can also generate a barcode from the IRD website, which can be printed or shown on your device.

Direct Debit or Credit Card via myIR
Payments can be made securely through myIR online services.

Online Banking
Use online banking to pay your tax. New Zealand banks give you the ability to 'Pay Tax' via their payment options.

Credit or Debit Card via the IRD Website
On the IRD website, search for "Make a payment" and select "Pay using credit or debit card".

Credit or Debit Card via the Self-service phone line
To pay via the self-service phone line, call 0800 257 777.

Automatic Payments
Automatic payments allow you to make regular payments and may be useful if you need to make regular payments, such as when you have a payment arrangement.

Give us a call if you would like to discuss your options.
